Red forging = hot forging. The brass rod is heated to 650–750℃ to make it soft, and then it is formed by one-time forging with a mold. For making solid, retro, and durable brass pull handles, red forging is the preferred method. The reason is quite straightforward.

1.High density, genuine texture, and the more it is used, the more patina it develops.

- The high-temperature forging process compresses and refines the brass grains, resulting in an internal structure free of pores and pinholes.

- It is more dense and heavier than casting or die-casting. It feels heavy in your hand and has a high-quality texture.

- Long-term use of natural patina results in a more smooth and stable surface, with a strong sense of vintage charm.

2.Strength and toughness are doubled, making it less prone to cracking and deformation.

- After being colored, the brass is resistant to bending, dropping and wear. The drawers/cabinet doors will not loosen even after being repeatedly pulled.

- Eliminates common defects such as porosity, shrinkage cavities and cracks in casting, with excellent stability.

- The kitchen is humid and has heavy cooking fumes, but it doesn't oxidize and turn black easily, and thus has a longer lifespan.

3. The design is exquisite, with the retro patterns and lines formed in one step.

- At high temperatures, brass has good fluidity and can precisely reproduce details such as ginkgo leaves, scroll patterns, columns, and reliefs.

- The grain is clear and the edges are clean. Further polishing or sanding will enhance the effect.

- The Bicheng processing method saves materials and labor hours, and can also produce complex products in large quantities.

4.The surface has a high-quality texture, and the brushed or distressed finish looks even more attractive.

- The surface of the red blank is dense and free of sand holes, and the wire drawing texture is more uniform and fine.

- The antique aging coloring is more stable and transparent, and the antique copper/green copper coloration is more natural.

- After applying the oil, it resists fingerprints and oil, and is easy to clean daily.

5.Compact design, high efficiency, excellent cost-effectiveness

- Less cutting, high material utilization rate, and less waste.

- One-time molding, fast batch production, and more affordable prices.

What would happen if we didn't use red ink?

- Casting: High air holes, prone to cracking, light texture, poor patina.

- Cold pressing: Hard, prone to chipping, rough texture, prone to deformation.

- Thin copper coating: Light and flimsy, prone to fading, without patina effect.

   Summary

The red finish gives the brass pull handles a genuine, high-density, strong-toughness, detailed and exquisite appearance, with a superior texture and long-lasting durability. It is the 'soul craftsmanship' of the retro brass handles.
