Steps for correctly installing brass kitchen cabinet handles:
1.Prepare tools. Tape measure, pencil, level, wood drill bit, flashlight, Phillips screwdriver, anti-slip gloves, matching long and short screws, soft padding washer.
2.Determine the installation position. For vertical cabinet doors: Place the handle about one-third of the way down from the bottom of the cabinet door. The height should be uniform throughout the house, and the left and right cabinet doors should be symmetrical and aligned. Drawer panel: Position the handle in the very center, install it horizontally with consistent levelness, and make it neat and attractive. Uniformity principle: The positions of the cabinet handles throughout the entire house are kept consistent, resulting in a more tidy and clean appearance.
3. Precise measurement and positioning of the hole spacing. Measure the distance between the centers of the two screw holes on the brass handle. On the surface of the cabinet door, lightly mark two points for drilling according to the size. Use a level to align them properly to avoid installation errors. For the single-hole small round pull handle, simply find the center point directly.
4. Safe drilling. Use a fine woodworking drill bit and drill straight down to the designated position completely. Use gentle force and avoid breaking through the door panel or scratching the finish of the cabinet door. After clearing the wood chips from the hole, ensure that the hole remains unobstructed.
5. Complete installation and fixation. Attach a soft pad to the back of the handle to protect the cabinet door from scratches and reduce noise. The screw is inserted from the inside of the cabinet and passes through the hole of the brass handle. First, secure it with your hand, then use a screwdriver to evenly tighten it on both sides. Do not exert force on just one side. The wooden cabinet doors should not be tightened too tightly to prevent the surface from cracking.
6. For the thin door panels, use short screws; for the thick door panels, use longer screws. The screws should be tightened until the heads are flush with the surface, to avoid the protruding parts from scratching hands or kitchenware. In damp kitchen environments, it is advisable to use rust-proof screws.
7. Installation details for different brass handles.
Long strip brass handles: Must be installed horizontally, with consistent height, presenting an elegant and simple appearance.
Retro circular/ single-hole handle: Can be installed centrally, small and exquisite.
Heavy engraved brass handle: Reinforced with a force pad to prevent loosening and sagging over time.
8. Gently turn the handle, and there will be no shaking, no tilting, and the opening and closing will be smooth. Wipe the oil stains on the brass surface with a dry soft cloth. Avoid using strong acids or oil-based cleaners in the kitchen. This will slow down the oxidation of the brass and make it look more attractive over time.
9. Install the anti-trap device. Don't randomly drill holes. Mark the positions first before proceeding. For the painted and textured cabinet doors, wear gloves during installation to avoid leaving fingerprints. The handles of the upper and lower cabinets have the same style and height, instantly enhancing the overall appearance of the home.
